Fillings & basic care

Tooth extraction

Gentle removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, with a plan for the gap before we start.

We only take a tooth out when saving it is not possible or not sensible. Before we do, we talk through what will fill the gap — if anything needs to.

What happens, step by step

  1. 1

    Numb the area

  2. 2

    Loosen and remove the tooth

  3. 3

    Stitch if needed

  4. 4

Gauze, aftercare sheet and a call the next day

Afterwards

  • Bite on gauze for 30 minutes
  • No rinsing, straws or smoking for 24 hours
  • Salt-water rinses from day two

Questions patients ask

What about wisdom teeth?

Many can be removed here; deeply buried ones we refer to an oral surgeon we work with.
