Crowns, implants & major work
Crowns
A ceramic cap that protects a weak or heavily filled tooth, shade-matched to its neighbours.
We scan the prepared tooth digitally — no putty — and a local dental laboratory makes the crown in zirconia or lithium disilicate. A temporary crown protects the tooth for the two weeks in between.
What happens, step by step
- 1
Numb and shape the tooth
- 2
Digital scan and shade match
- 3
Temporary crown
- 4
Second visit: fit, check and cement
Afterwards
- Avoid sticky food on the temporary crown
- Floss by sliding the floss out sideways around the temporary
Questions patients ask
Will it look natural?
Yes — we shade-match in daylight and can involve the lab technician for front teeth.
